Class Challenge

Activity: Tug of War

Theme: Game

Robot Name: ScramblerBot

 Totally different with scramble eggs

We believed that three factors will be the key of success in this activity/competition that is:

Mass

Heavy and compact design can stand steadily even with extreme force by opponent. Our ScamberBot usually won with lighter weight opponents, but forced backward with heavier Bot. We had measure the weight and ours is 625g, which is one of the lighter design. We should add any available accessories to increase the weight even some will not very functioning.

Gravity Centre

Towering robot design reduce the stability and prone to collapse if greater force hit on the lower part of the strcuture. SramblerBot designed as low as it could to sustain stability and increase the base area as seen in F1 car design.

Moving Mechanism
Modifying movement system by attaching gears on tyres help to increase the power to 120%, instead of maximum 100%. The speed will definately decreases, but it is not considered as much important in this situation because power is much more important than speed right now.

Problems and Solutions

Eventhough the pushing force generates from enhanced gears is owesome, ScramblerBot is still  too light to withstand with greater force by larger and heavier robots. The tyres failed to grip the tiles and make ScamblerBot drag-out of the boundry. So, we need to strengthen the tyres and add additional equipments to increase the weight and make ScramblerBot resistance to momentum force produced by heavy mass robots.

 Activity: Attacking and Defending

Robot Name: Mantis Mentadu

Modified from previous ScramblerBot, our 'creature' had shown its fearless valour in attacking with semi-structured claws (and sometimes choking and poking opponents without prior programmed). The secret is through extensive programming that measuring the appropriate distance and test value in range icon. Our creature will only attacking if the object within specific range only.
